November 2021

We look forward to the 2022 trekking season with great optimism, hope and excitement.

We are constantly monitoring the Covid situation in PNG with information received from our PNG operations Team in Port Moresby, The Kokoda Track Authority, The Kokoda Track Tour Operators Association and from the Australian Government Consulate in Port Moresby.

Please be assured that Back Track will ONLY be operating if,“we can operate in a safe environment for our trek leaders, our trek crew and their families, our village communities and you, our trekkers”

IF WE DO TRAVEL TO PNG IN 2022

There might be changes to accept as we approach the ‘new travel normal’ worldwide.

Some of these changes may come from the Australian and PNG governments implementing new travel practices from what we currently experience at airports. It may also require us to be able to provide proof of vaccination status or to undergo tests on arrival and departure.

Additionally, we are not expecting any service providers to increase costs, however, this is always possible. Service providers include airlines, hotels and transport providers, etc.

In the meantime please book to confirm your place and we’ll be in touch to finalise your booking once we have confirmation that tourism can recommence safely in PNG and trek costs for 2022 can be confirmed.

We look forward to sharing the Kokoda Track experience with you in 2022.
